National digital ballot election

How do I get a seat and become a member of STUDENT PARLIAMENT?

  • Register as a candidate by MARCH 31!
  • The election period is from April 2 to 30, and will be decided automatically when >9 candidates register, as there are 8 seats in the parliament to be filled. If there are 9 or more candidates, there will be held a digital ballot election for all candidates in the election period. This is your chance to shine! Promote yourself as best as you can!
  • Winners of the election will be announced on May 2, and will be admitted as members when the Student Parliament is constituted in May.

As a student representative and member of the Student Parliament, you have the opportunity to contribute on a larger level. We represent all our fellow students and actively address student concerns and improve student life at NLA University College for all NLA students at all levels! We also have the opportunity to promote social events, student welfare and everything that contributes to the student environment.

What does it mean to become a member of the Student Parliament?

As a member of the Student Parliament, you assume responsibility for contributing actively to looking after and promoting the students' interests and needs at your place of study, as well as having the opportunity to influence and participate in various positions and the opportunities the position provides:

  • Enroll to ORG101 (5 credits)
  • Participate in NLA and national student committees and boards
  • Political training and leadership experience
  • Contribute to increased student welfare and influence students' everyday life
  • Build networks and new relationships
  • Improve the CV 

How to join!

How-to-guide for digital national ballot elections

1: Register as a candidate for the Ballot elections once announced. Deadline 31 March.

a) If there are 9 or more candidates:

  • Prepare for self promotation election campaign 
  • Candidates are promoted on different platforms
  • Use your ballot and let the election commence! 

b) If there are 8 or fewer candidates: 

  • Candidates automatically become members of SPNLA. Congratulations, you are a member!

2: Newly elected SPNLA members: 

  • Answer the summoning and meet up for the constituent meeting in May!
  • Represent NLA students nationally through the highest level of NLA Student Democracy.
  • Serve until the next constituting meeting, plus 1 extra month if you are on the Working Committee (AU) for overlap. 

3: Through SPNLA you can take on student political positions and become a student representative in influencial committees internally in SPNLA like the Working commitee (Arbeidsutvalget - AU) or externally like e.g. the NLA University College board comittee or other elect organs at NLA University College with managing mandates.
